Of incense and blades undeserved.

Dear Bibi, I still miss you... horribly so.

I still practice my forms every morning, one way or the other. It is a little difficult to improve without a master like my Si Fu to instruct me, but I only have to remember that 'perfection is the goal'. This I believe may be the only area where I would strive for it.

I am running low on incense. While the ladies do not seem to like the smell much, none have complained yet. I need to find some more. I can live with scentless skin, but not with insect bites.

The enchantment I felt from first coming here is waning. I need something to further interest me. I need a distraction to do something that does not involve volumes of dress and strange tea. And so while I have my doubts about this... Monsieur Neji, we have a sword to tend to. If you don't do anything, then I most certainly will.

I do not know if the scents of my homeland are quite what you would be looking for, but I have a more than enough to part with some of it. As for obtaining more, I can contact my suppliers out East and arrange to have whatever you seek shipped for a reasonable price.

That is very kind of you... forgive me, I don't have your name?

I am curious as to what your homeland has. For what purposes do your people use incense, may I ask?

And as for the longing I have for my homeland's scents, I am more than willing to pay for your kind service.

I am Sabakuno Temari. My brothers and I are also guests of the Hyuuga, though I don't believe out paths have actually crossed as I'm often busy with business matters or trying to avoid being confined to the indoors.

We are from the Arabian Peninsula, so frankincense is our native resource, though we have access to many others. We primarily use it in either prayer or as a show of hospitality, but I also have some that I personally use to ward off the bothersome insects of this wet land. It's a mixture of lemongrass and eucalyptus primarily.

If you would let me know what it is that you wish, I will submit the order later this week with the shipment that I have scheduled. As for kindness, that is not often something that I am accused of. More of a shrewd business sense. There is a reason it is I, and not either of my brothers, that will be the one to take over our father's business one day.

But that being said...what is it that you do to keep yourself from absolute boredom within these walls? I am dreading yet another winter confined to this place.

Though you may know me already, I am bound to give a formal introduction. I am Qing Tien, imperial daughter of the great Emperor Zai Tien of China. It is strange we have not met properly before considering we have the same host. I prefer to be called Tenten here; it is easier on the tongues of these people.

I have heard of frankincense, but I never learned much about it apart from its bitter fragrance. I'll ask only for a small pouch. It is a novelty, to me.

Would you object to my request of other items as well, for the delivery? Perhaps I can simply be granted one container to fill, if shipping is a concern. Apart from incense, I am sure my father the Emperor will be inclined to sending various other things as well.

I am... grateful all the same, and my gratitude will remain so long as I am not held to it unfairly. Name your price and I will see to it.

As to the boredom within these walls, I'm afraid I quell it by going out.

Tenten it shall be then, if you will simply call me by Temari. I hope you do not think me intentionally rude to have not sought you out for introductions before now.

I would be happy to provide my services as a go-between for anything you might desire. Despite most of my dealings being centered here and in the Americas, I've got a few sources further East. I would welcome the opportunity to expand a bit. These Europeans find any foreign commodity priceless.

I'm sure we can reach a very amicable arrangement. I would not be near as successful in my business dealings if I held to unreasonable fees. Unless of course, we're talking how some ladies will pay a small fortune for one of my fans. Who am I to undersell art?

And again, I hope that you did not take my previous words for rudeness. My sense of manners, especially towards other women, is quite different from the corseted butterflies that flit about here and I am often told by Kankuro (the middle brother, you should avoid him) that I come off rather caustically.

That being said, would you care to join me for a ride some morning? I don't mean a casual tour through the lanes either. Perhaps outside of the city proper? If you don't mind my unlady-like dress and manners, I would enjoy the company.

I understand you perfectly, and I don't find any reason for your words to offend me. I see you are a strong business-woman. I have to say I have never met one before, strong or otherwise.

A ride outside of Paris sounds... how would they say it? Delightful. Most especially if we can escape my train of attendants for a while . I would be glad to.

Honestly, I can count the number of true businesswomen (and not just the wife of so-and-so) that I've met myself on one hand. Though, it's not like it requires anything that men have that women do not, save for opportunity.

I've become rather good at...losing my escort. Soon, then.
